1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and securely authenticate your account using Firebase Authentication.
• Support Communications: If you contact us at [email protected], we collect the information you provide in your message.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• User ID: When you create an account, a unique user identifier (UID) is generated to associate your account with your scan history and watchlist.
• Scan Activity and Watchlist Data: When you scan a product or add a company to your watchlist, we store:
  • The recognized company/ticker
  • Associated stock information at the time of scan
  • Timestamp of the action

  This information is associated with your account to enable core app functionality.

• Image Processing: Users may capture an image with the camera or select one from the photo library for scanning. Images are re-encoded to remove embedded metadata (such as location EXIF data) before being transmitted securely to the Google Gemini Vision API solely for recognition purposes. SnapTicker does not retain raw images after processing for recognition.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information solely to:

• Authenticate your account
• Enable scan recognition functionality
• Store and retrieve your scan history
• Enable and manage your watchlist
• Provide stock information
• Maintain app performance and security
• Respond to customer support inquiries

SnapTicker does not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or marketing purposes.

3. DATA PROCESSING AND STORAGE

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the app:

• Firebase – Authentication services
• Supabase – Secure storage of user-related scan and watchlist data
• Finnhub – Public stock market data
• Google Gemini – Image recognition for product scanning

Images are transmitted for recognition only and are not stored by SnapTicker after processing.

Data is stored on secure servers located in the United States.

4. INFORMATION SHARING

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the app, and solely for app functionality. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.

We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.

5. DATA RETENTION

We retain account data, scan history, and watchlist data for as long as your account remains active.

Images used for scanning are not retained after recognition processing.

You may delete your account at any time through the app’s account settings. Upon deletion, your account information and associated scan and watchlist data are removed from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes.

6. SECURITY

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission
• Secure authentication systems
• Controlled access to stored data

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

SnapTicker is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

California residents may request access to or deletion of their personal information. We do not sell personal information.

If you access SnapTicker from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
